Why would I register?
Your registration will help us understand how many brave participants we can count on to join us for the plunge as well as organize “enough” food and drinks.
Do I have to pay for the plunge?
No you don’t! However, we would appreciate a donation for the Naramata Fire Fighters Society.
AND …… if you are one of the first 125 to donate a MINIMUM of $15 to the Naramata Volunteer Fire Department, you will get your hands on one of this year’s Wine Tumblers!
What time does the event start?
The event starts at noon on January 1st and ends around 2pm. The actual plunge will be at 1pm!
Will there be food / drinks?
Yes, we will be serving hotdogs and warm drinks (all in support of the Naramata Volunteer Fire Department)!
Do you need (business) sponsors for this event?

NARAMATA POLAR BEAR FIRE PLUNGE 2024 – PARTICIPATION WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Naramata Polar Bear “FIRE” Plunge event, I, the registered participant, hereby acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
Assumption of Risk: I understand that participating in the Naramata Polar Bear Fire Plunge involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to cold water exposure, slipping, falling, and other unpredictable hazards. I voluntarily choose to participate in this event with full knowledge and acceptance of these risks.
Physical Condition: I certify that I am physically fit and healthy enough to participate in this event.Â
Release of Liability: I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release and discharge the organizers and volunteers of the Naramata Polar Bear Fire Plunge event, from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action, whether in law or equity, arising out of my participation in the Naramata Polar Bear Fire Plunge.
Waiver of Claims: I waive any and all claims, demands, or causes of action against the Released Parties for personal injury, property damage, or any other loss that I may sustain as a result of my participation in the event.
Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur as a result of any claims brought by or on behalf of myself, even if such claims are caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Released Parties.
Photographic Release: I grant permission for the Organizers of the Naramata Polar Bear Fire Plunge to use photographs, videos, or other media of me taken during the Naramata Polar Bear Fire Plunge for promotional purposes without compensation.
Acknowledgment: I acknowledge that I have carefully read this waiver and release of liability and fully understand its contents. I am aware that by signing this document, I am waiving certain legal rights and agree to be bound by its terms.
I, the undersigned participant, affirm that I am 18 years of age or older and competent to sign this waiver. If the participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must sign on their behalf.
